Heredad Arano is made from grapes from Moradillo de Roa’s over 20-year-old vineyards. 9 hectares in the plots of “Blancares”, “El Charco”, “Presas”, “Estepar”, and “Pozuelo Pico” at 1,000 metres above sea level on stony soils with a continental climate.
These terrace vineyards are composed of gravel, silt, and sandy loam soil.
The soils are of variable depth with a medium-high level of limestone.
The grapes are hand-harvested in 10 kg crates and fermented in stainless steel tanks with pre-fermentation cold maceration for four days, followed by alcoholic fermentation. Finally, malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks, followed by barrel-ageing for a minimum of 15 months in French oak barrels.
